Hello. My name is kome.
This time, I will try to translate the past article “Noboribetsu Onsen Walk ①” into English, and try to send information about Noboribetsu Onsen to people overseas (o ^^ o)
At Noboribetsu Onsen, you can see people from various countries visiting for sightseeing.
Before traveling abroad, I enjoyed preparing for the trip with reference to local blogs and walk videos.
I would be pleased if you could use it as a reference so that overseas tourists can enjoy preparing for travel without anxiety by sending information about Noboribetsu Onsen in English.
Basically I can't speak English.I would appreciate it if you could forgive me for some strangeness in the text.
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
On a sunny day in September 2019, I strolled through the mountains of Noboribetsu Onsen.
"Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) ",Explosion crater with exposed ground,
"Tessen-Ike (Iron Spring Pond) ", which is likened to a hell pot
"Oyunuma (Oyu Swamp)" made of sulfur springs,
"Natural footbath" that warms your feet in the Oyunuma River flowing from Oyunuma,
"Promenade" connecting them
I enjoyed it while sweating.
This time, I will report the road from the hot spring town to “Jigokudani Observatory” with the title Noboribetsu Onsen Walk ①.
About Noboribetsu Onsen walk
First of all, I will explain a little about Noboribetsu Onsen Wark.
When I used the “Jigoku-Dani Parking Lot” before, I received the “Noboribetsu Onsen Tekuteku Walking MAP”.
Looking at the map, there are seven promenades and exploration trails around "Jigoku-Dani" at the back of the hot spring town and "Oyunuma" at a distance.
I learned that I can take a lot of walks.
There are various roads from the walking level to the mountain walking level. For example, a simple road that can be reached in about 10 minutes, or a road that walks over 40 minutes by combining several promenades. I want to challenge little by little in the future (* ^^ *)
Also, I thought that it was important to go for a walk this time, preparing for belongings.
Below is a note of what I found necessary.
What you always thought you should have
・Drink
・Towel
Something that seems better to have if necessary
・Parasol
・Sunscreen
・Salt replenishment
・Wet tissue(When eating outside)
・Replacement socks(When using footbath)
About "Noboribetsu Jigoku-Dani"
Noboribetsu Jigokudani visited this time is an explosion crater made by eruption activity.
It is very close to Noboribetsu Onsen and you can walk there.
Hot springs are coming out from the spring outlets and fumaroles in the gaps in the exposed ground, and you can see hot steam standing around here.
I think it's due to the hot springs, but the mountain surface is exposed and has a unique color, it is rough and very cool.
You can't step on the land of Jigokudani (probably because it's too hot and dangerous), but you can enjoy the Jigokudani from the surroundings with its promenade and observation deck.
Stroll
This time, I summarized the road from “Izumigen Park” to “Jigokudani Observatory” on the edge of the hot spring town.
The red marker on the map is the way I walked this time. I'm sorry that it's hard to see! Sweat
It was about 5 minutes on foot.
I also posted a video below, so please check it out if you like. I think that the atmosphere will be conveyed more (* ^^ *)
"Sengen(Spring)Park" → "Jigoku-Ddani Parking Lot" (Parking lot circumstances)
Now walk!
Depart from Sengen(Spring)Park and go up a gentle slope.
Along the way, there was a spear called “Oni-Hokora”.There are statues of red and blue "Oni".It seems to be a popular photo spot
It ’s a great pectoral muscle.
Next you can see a long parking lot.
As mentioned above, if you use this parking lot, you can get the “Noboribetsu Onsen Tekuteku Walking Map”.
ーー Parking lot circumstances ーー
There are two parking lots around the Noboribetsu Onsen Walk area.If you purchase one of the tickets (500 yen), you can use the other parking lot with that stub.
(The image is a picture of a stub for "Jigoku-Dani Parking" that was obtained using "Oyunuma Parking".)
Even when you can't walk a lot, you can enjoy a wide area by using two parking lots (* ^^ *)
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
“Noboribetsu Jigoku-Dani Parking Lot” → Observatory entrance “Service Center”
Well, I ’ll walk further!
There was a streetlight with a birch tree as a motif.
ーーーーーー By the way ーーーーーー
I talked to the person who was involved in the production of this streetlight, but he proudly said that he used a birch tree as a motif in order not to damage the natural landscape (^^)I thought it was smart.
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
There was a signboard to Jigokudani.I am glad and I have strength in my feet.
I found a facility called “Noboribetsu Park Service Center” just before I reached Jigoku-Dani.
If you look inside, there are souvenir shops, rest areas, toilets, vending machines, and so on.It is quite wide. The resting space was large and It was a place where we could rest slowly.
In the Noboribetsu Park Service Center, we also provided “free rental of boots”. Great consideration!
Beyond the Noboribetsu Park Service Center, Jigokudani is approaching at a stretch. The gait is lighter and faster.
Arrived at "Hell Valley Observatory"!
Has arrived! "Hell Valley Observatory".
It was just when there were no people, so I was able to take as many landscape photos as I wanted.I am very lucky because I am always full of tourists.
This is a photo taken from the "Jigoku-Dani Observatory" looking up at the "Jigoku-Dani Second Observatory".The sky and mountains are very clear and high, and the sun is dazzling and I feel a sense of liberation.
The clouds are cool.
Because it is the sky at the beginning of autumn, the sky has both vividness and height. The sky will feel higher when autumn is deeper.I'm looking forward to it.
It is the bare mountain surface of Jigoku-Dani.
The forest in the back of Jigoku-Dani is full of greenery, but there are no vegetation in Jigoku-Dani, so it looks just like hell.I feel my heart is getting hot because I feel the earth.
I felt the magnificence of nature and it was really nice (* ^^ *)
ーーーーーー By the way ーーーーーー
There are volunteer guides in Jigoku-Dani.
There were several volunteer guides when I also visited.
One volunteer guide spoke to me when I was taking a lot of pictures.
What kind of tourists came that day, the state of the recent Jigokudani observatory, and a little talk about himself.
It was very friendly and easy to talk with and we had a great time (o ^^ o)

Walking video
I went to another day to shoot a video about the road I talked about this time. Please see if you want (* ^^ *)
*Fast forward version*
