Hello. My name is kome.
This time, I will try to translate the past article “Noboribetsu Onsen Walk ④” into English, and try to send information about Noboribetsu Onsen to people overseas (o ^^ o)

At Noboribetsu Onsen, you can see people from various countries visiting for sightseeing.
Before traveling abroad, I enjoyed preparing for the trip with reference to local blogs and walk videos.
I would be pleased if you could use it as a reference so that overseas tourists can enjoy preparing for travel without anxiety by sending information about Noboribetsu Onsen in English.

Basically I can't speak English.I would appreciate it if you could forgive me for some strangeness in the text.

On a sunny day in September 2019, I strolled through the mountains of Noboribetsu Onsen.

This time, I will report with the title "Noboribetsu Onsen Walk ④”, the road from "Jigoku-Dani(Hell Valley)Observatory" to "Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Second Observatory" .

About Noboribetsu Onsen walk

First of all, I will explain a little about Noboribetsu Onsen Wark.

When I used the “Jigoku-Dani Parking Lot” before, I received the “Noboribetsu Onsen Tekuteku Walking MAP”.

Looking at the map, there are seven promenades and exploration trails around "Jigoku-Dani" at the back of the hot spring town and "Oyunuma" at a distance.
I learned that I can take a lot of walks.

Part of “Noboribetsu Onsen Tekuteku Walking MAP”

There are various roads from the walking level to the mountain walking level. For example, a simple road that can be reached in about 10 minutes, or a road that walks over 40 minutes by combining several promenades. I want to challenge little by little in the future (* ^^ *)

Also, I thought that it was important to go for a walk this time, preparing for belongings.

Below is a note of what I found necessary.

About 「Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Second Observatory」

“Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Second Observatory ” visited for this walk is an observatory located a little higher than the main “Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Observatory”.

You have to go up the stairs for a while, but you can reach it in less than 5 minutes.

View from the Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Second Observatory

At the Second Observatory , you can see Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) from the side.

On the way to Second observatory, you will encounter things that weren't on the promenade that we have introduced so far, such as the diorama of Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley), the old information board, the Kannon statues and Daimoku-ishi.

Stroll !

This time, I summarized the road that climbing from "Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Observatory '' to " Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Second observatory '' and coming out on " Road next to parking lot ''.

The red marker on the map is the way I walked this time. I'm sorry that it's hard to see. Sweat

It was about 5 minutes on foot.

I also posted a video below, so please check it out if you like. I think that the atmosphere will be conveyed more (* ^^ *)

「Jigoku-Dani(Hell Valley)Observatory」→「Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Second Observatory

Now, go!

First, head to the stairs next to “Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Observatory”.

There was a diorama “Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley)” just before the stairs.

It ’s a bit difficult, but I ’m going up the stairs.

Road to Second observatory

This road was well maintained like other promenades, and the foot were safe.

There were not many tourists and there was a secret atmosphere.

Old information board

There was the old information board of the Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley)!

I feel the oldness in wooden construction.I am curious about when it was created.

ーーHere for details on the boardーー

「地獄谷は、直径四五〇メートルの爆裂火口跡で無数の噴気孔からは、今なおさかんに熱湯や蒸気などが噴き出しています

Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) is a crater trail with a diameter of 4500 meters, and hot water and steam are still spewing out from countless fumaroles.

 この熱湯は最高九十八度と非常に高温で、また量も豊富なため地獄谷は登別温泉の最も大きな宣言となっています

This hot water is extremely hot at a maximum of 98 degrees Celsius, and because it is abundant in volume, Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley)  is the largest source of Noboribetsu Onsen.

 登別温泉では、場所により色々な泉質の温泉が湧き出しており全部で十一種類にもおよぶといわれています

At Noboribetsu Onsen, there are various types of hot springs depending on the location, and it is said that there are 11 types of hot springs in all.」

ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー

Well, I will walk a little more.

Road to Second observatory

It ’s surrounded by a lot of greenery.

Second observatory space

I came to the open space. This is the “Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley)  Second Observatory”.

View fim the Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Second Observatory

I feel the valley is longer and farther than I see it in other places because I see the valley from the side.

When I saw from the opposite “Tessen-Ike (Iron Spring Pond)”, I looked up at the sky and felt a sense of liberation. On the other hand, when viewed from the “Second Observatory”, it looked down, and I could see the mountains and forests in the back of the valley, and I felt a sense of security in the state of holding firmly.

Is it like a feeling of earth from "Second Observatory" in contrast to the feeling of liberation from "Tessen-Ike (Iron Spring Pond)" (^^)

I understood that the facial expression was different depending on where I looked in the same hell valley.

f:id:kome-musubi:20190929011129j:plain

Nata-dukuri Kannon

Behind the Second Observatory, there was a Kannon image called “Nata-zukuri Kannon”.

ーーー「Nata-dukuri Kannon」---

Excerpt from the explanation on the map ↓

「A Kannon image created with a single billhook in 1666 by a monk "Enkuu - jonin" who has been a national pilgrimage during the Edo period.Lost temporarily due to a wildfire, later discovered in a charred figure.Located in the Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Observatory.」

 --------------------

It has gone through a spectacular process of being lost in a wildfire and being discovered in a charred.Even after that, I feel grateful for being enshrined here.

「Jigoku-Dani(Hell Valley) Second Observatory」→「Road next to parking lot 」

There is a staircase next to "Nata-dukuri Kannon", so go down there.

Stairway from Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Second Observatory to the road

This road, like Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Promenade, has quite a sense of Ghibli. The thick green and stone stairs and the wooden handrails … so nice (^^)!

When I got down the stairs and got out on the road, two big standing stones came out on the left and right.

It seems to be called “Daimoku-ishi”.

Daimoku-ishi

Daimoku-ishi

ーーーーー「Daimoku-ishi」ーーーーー

Excerpt from the explanation on the map ↓

「A natural stone written 「南無妙法蓮華経 "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo"」with ink in 1871 by the monk "Nisshin-jonin" who opened the "Myoei Temple" in Date City .In the old days, the words「南無妙法蓮華経 “Nam-myoho-renge-kyo” 」emerged when exposed to water.」

ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー

“Daimoku” seems to be a phrase of "南無妙法蓮華経”.

The staircase that came down

I looked back at the stairs that came down. This walk ends here.

The other side of this photo is Jigoku-Ddani Parking Lot.From Jigoku-Dani (Hell Valley) Observatory, I came down a little toward the hot spring town.

Walking video

I went to another day to shoot a video about the road I talked about this time. Please see if you want (* ^^ *)

※The camera shake is terrible because the angle is changed every time someone else's face is likely to appear. It ’s hard to see and you ’ll get drunk. Please watch carefully. ※

*Fast forward version*

*Normal (normal speed) version*
